Lake Shannon, or as it is commonly referred to, Shannon Shores, is a private lakeside community owned by Lake Shannon, Inc. It resides about 4 miles north of Reddick and maintains a Reddick, Illinois address. It has private beaches, a post office, a museum and a recreation center. Each residence has lakefront access with boat dock and personal beach. The Clarke City museum is open to the public and celebrates the history of Clarke City, a coal-mining town now gone whose residents were part of the R.U.C.E. school district before Campus.
